My name is Anthony Donald Affrunti, DDS, MPH and I am Drs. Paul and Elizabeth Affrunti’s son. I grew up, literally and figuratively, in this office – some might say dentistry is in my blood! I recently married my beautiful wife, Stephanie Francesca Affrunti, CCC-SLP, and I am proud to be a part of this wonderful community both as a dentist and as a new resident.
After graduating from Chaminade High School, I was accepted to Adelphi University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. This formed the solid foundation upon which I began my dental career.
I received my dental degree from New York University College of Dentistry. There, I was accepted into the highly competitive DDS-CPH dual degree program, simultaneously receiving an Advanced Certificate in the field of Public Health from New York University College of Global Public Health. I graduated from NYUCD with two prestigious honors awards, the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award for “demonstrating superior performance in providing oral comprehensive care and administering a dental practice,” and the Dr. Charles A. Cacioppo Student Award for “demonstrating a commitment to clinical excellence and overall patient care.” I continue to strive for this excellence in everyday practice.
Further, I was a part of the honors program, Prisoners of War and Survivors of Torture program, where I worked closely with Bellevue Hospital interdisciplinary team to provide care to survivors of these travesties who sought asylum in the United States of America. I am a certified Invisalign provider and can offer this treatment in the office.
As a part of my postdoctoral training, I was accepted into a General Practice Residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where I spent a year performing endodontic treatments (root canal procedures), oral surgery, periodontal procedures, crown and bridge procedures, implant restorations, and general and esthetic restorative techniques. I participated in hours of lectures, seminars, grand rounds, and external teaching conferences. I rotated through internal medicine, emergency department, anesthesia department, pathology department, surgery, and operating room. I was fully immersed in care of COVID-19 positive patients including EKG, ventilators, triage and more during COVID-19 pandemic where I put to use many of my skills that I developed from my CPH degree.
I recently furthered my education at Adelphi University, achieving my Master of Public Health Degree (MPH) degree. Through the Academy of General Dentistry, I am currently working towards my Fellowship degree (FAGD). I strive to stay up to date with the latest trends in dentistry and seek to utilize the best practices possible. I seek to help usher Seaford Dental, PC into the digital age and into the future! I am licensed in both New York State and Florida State to practice dentistry.
When I am not practicing dentistry, I enjoy going boating and fishing with family and friends, playing golf, and I am a total foodie."
